Neighborhood

Located in a quiet pocket of the Bridgeport neighborhood nestled between the south of the South Branch of Chicago River and the Stevenson expressway. A fire station located across the street provides the comfort that emergency services are close at hand. Note that the fire trucks do not use their sirens while in the neighborhood. They only use their lights, we have never heard sirens.

We have lived in Bridgeport for a few years and find it to be a safe and comfortable place for us to raise our family we and wanted to stay in the area when we moved into this new home.

Parks: The unique Palmisano Park is just one block away: 27-acres with fishing pond, marsh boardwalk, trails, running track, and a hill with city views. McGuane Park is two blocks away: 10-acres with athletic fields, tennis courts, and playground.

Restaurants: Duck Inn, a Michelin rated Bib Gourmand restaurant is just one block away. A few good options three blocks away near Halsted and 31st. Explore Chinatown just 1-mile away.

The neighborhood of Bridgeport, located only 3 miles southwest of downtown, is the proud home of five former Chicago mayors and Major League Baseball’s Chicago White Sox franchise. Today, the neighborhood has experienced rapid revitalization and part of a vibrant artistic movement. Now better connected with a growing appreciation for the arts and culture movement, the community boasts a number of culinary and social hotspots. As a result, Bridgeport is one of Chicago’s most culturally vibrant and ethnically diverse neighborhoods, offering stunning art galleries, sports centers, family parks, and authentic eateries.

Just across the river is the Pilsen neighborhood. There are many hip dining and nightlife options along 18th street. Pilsen was named tenth coolest neighborhood in the world by Forbes in 2019 article "Ranked: The 15 Coolest Neighborhoods In The World"

We enjoyed our stay! The pictures actually matched the place. It was spacious and quiet with tall ceilings. Since it is a garden unit, you can hear some thuds throughout the day but not during the night. Missy and Jason were very flexible with letting us extend our stay a few days as we had some delays in our remodeling project at home. Everything was clean and easy to find.

So my boyfriend and I found this gem browsing on the app. When I reached out to Missy she was really nice and she responded pretty quickly. If she couldn’t respond Jason would so there was always someone to assist if needed. She answered any questions I had and helped me through the booking process. They also checked in to see if we needed anything during our stay. When we arrived at the Airbnb it looked just like the pictures. They literally had everything you needed and it wasn’t too far from downtown by car. The parking wasn’t too bad we were able to park close by. I would definitely recommend booking with them 10/10. I will definitely book with them again if I’m ever in Chicago again.

This was a beautiful home! Very clean and has absolutely everything you need. Very quite area. Keep in mind that the owners have young kids and they live above. I didn't see them at all during the 8 nights of me staying there. Wasn't a issue for me especially for the location and price. I would absolutely stay again in the future.

I had booked the unit for a Swamiji from India. The place was liked by both of us. The place was absolutely clean and everything that I thought might not be there was there like coffee pods, laundry detergent, iron, extra blanket, plenty of towels, dish washing soap etc. It made our life very easy. Great place and excellent responsive hosts. 👍👍👍👏👏👏
